Tertiary psychology clinics provide low-cost therapy and assessment, usually from provisional psychologists. We made a list of every Australian low-cost tertiary psychology clinic we could find. Some parts may be out-of-date, but we do our best. To suggest an update, contact us here.

New South Wales

University of Sydney – Brain and Mind Centre – Psychology Clinic

Psychometric assessments for adults experiencing cognitive difficulty stemming from learning disorders (reading, writing, maths) and ADHD. Such assessments can determine the nature of the cognitive issue and lead to recommendations that may assist with academic, occupational and/or general functioning. The fee includes an interview, test administration, feedback and a full report. Assessments are conducted on a single day and generally take three to four hours.

Western Sydney University – Psychology Clinic

The Psychology Clinic is staffed by provisionally registered psychologists currently undertaking post-graduate training to become clinical psychologists. All provisionally registered psychologists are supervised by fully accredited and highly experienced clinical psychology supervisors. This ensures that clients receive the highest quality care whilst attending the clinic. The psychological testing fee includes the interview, test administration, written reports and feedback sessions.

University of New South Wales – Psychology Clinic

The UNSW Psychology Clinic provides a broad range of clinical psychology services to adults, young people, children and families at low cost. It has an emphasis on cognitive-behavioural approaches to the understanding and management of psychological issues, which are based on the most up-to-date clinical research and evidence. Fees for adult and child cognitive assessments include the interview, test administration, feedback sessions, and a written report.

University of New South Wales – Forensic Psychology Clinic

UNSW Forensic Psychology Clinic is a training clinic run by the University of New South Wales School of Psychology, providing opportunities for supervised training of students enrolled in the Master of Psychology (Forensic) program at UNSW. As well as providing assessment and therapy services, the clinic supports research, training and supervision for forensic psychologists and forensic psychology registrars. They conduct a wide range of assessments and reports for courts, tribunals, or other organisations, including (but not limited to) pre-sentence reports, Section 14’s, working with children’s checks, cognitive and adaptive behavioural assessments, etc. Their assessments are multimodal and
involve structured interviews, psychometrics, actuarial and structured professional judgment risk assessment tools, documentation reviews, and interviews with relevant stakeholders.

Macquarie University – Psychology Clinic

The Psychology Clinic at MQ Health is staffed by provisionally registered and fully registered psychologists who are currently undertaking postgraduate studies in organisational psychology and clinical psychology. These staff members are supervised by highly experienced, qualified and endorsed psychologists. The Clinic uses the latest in evidence-based assessments, treatment and research. This includes psychometric assessments.

Macquarie University – Neuropsychology Clinic

Expert clinical assessment and management of brain dysfunction. Most assessments require two to three hours, involving an initial interview followed by a comprehensive evaluation of thinking skills using standardised neuropsychological tests. Feedback may be given during a subsequent appointment, by phone, or via the referring specialist or GP, who receives a detailed report.

University of Technology Sydney – Psychology Clinic

The UTS Psychology Clinic offers cognitive assessments for adults, children and adolescents. These services require a referral from your GP or another healthcare professional such as a school counsellor, paediatrician, psychologist or psychiatrist. You can also contact us directly with any advance enquiries. They do not provide assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

University of Newcastle – Psychology Clinic

The Psychology Clinic is a service for adults, families, children and adolescents. Individual and group programs are offered generally for a one-hour session per week in comfortable surroundings away from the main teaching areas where privacy can be assured. It also provides cognitive and diagnostic assessments, including a report.

University of Wollongong – Northfields Psychology Clinic

The clinic’s Provisional Psychologists are trained to provide up-to-date and effective psychological treatment and assessments, and all Provisional Psychologists are supervised by experts from the UOW School of Psychology. 

Australian College of Applied Professions – Psychology Clinic

The clinic is staffed by provisionally registered psychologists or registered psychologists who have completed their undergraduate training in psychology. All provisionally and fully registered psychologists in the clinic are supervised by qualified and experienced endorsed psychologists. Video recording and clinical supervision are standard practices in the Clinic and are conducted with the client’s knowledge and consent. The ACAP Psychology Clinic is committed to providing evidence-based assessments and treatment for the community at affordable rates. They do not provide assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Australian Catholic University – Mary Aikenhead Clinic

The Mary Aikenhead Clinic is a teaching facility staffed by postgraduate psychology students/provisional psychologists who provide holistic and client-centred services using a multidisciplinary approach. Staff at the clinic work closely with other health disciplines at ACU, including dieticians, exercise physiologists, social workers and allied health professionals. The clinic provides client-centred, evidence-based interventions and support for a range of mental health concerns. The clinic also provides a range of formal psychological assessment packages for children, adolescents and adults. All assessments involve a comprehensive interview, psychometric testing, a report and a feedback session. Assessments can be offered in the following areas: cognitive/intellectual and adaptive functioning, learning or educational difficulties, mental health and behavioural concerns, and specialised assessments of developmental difficulties of childhood, e.g. autism spectrum disorders.

University of New England – Psychology Clinic

The UNE Psychology Clinic provides assessment and therapeutic services to the general community and to UNE staff and students. The Clinic provides a training and research facility for the postgraduate Clinical Psychology Program students, all of whom have provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. All provisional psychologists in the Clinic are supervised by registered and experienced clinical psychologists. This clinic offers Autism Spectrum Disorder assessments. ASD assessment referrals must be made in writing by a primary healthcare provider (GP, Paediatrician, Psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioner or Allied Health Practitioner). A self-referral request for an updated assessment can be made if evidence of a formal written diagnosis is provided.

Victoria

Victoria University – Psychology Clinic

The Victoria University Psychology Clinic operates as part of the professional training for postgraduate psychology students at the University. Assessment and treatment is provided by provisional psychologists who are supervised by experienced psychologists. You can access the service without a referral, but you can also be referred by local agencies, doctors, health professionals or teachers.

Australian Catholic University – Melbourne Psychology Clinic

The Melbourne Psychology Clinic (MPC) forms part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and is a training facility that offers you, your child or your family, psychological assessment and intervention. The clinic offers a high standard of service to the community at a low cost, meeting the need for affordable mental health care. The clinic is staffed by postgraduate interns who are undertaking postgraduate qualifications in psychology. All clinic services are overseen by registered psychologists who are skilled clinicians and supervisors. Treatment procedures are chosen on the basis of clinical judgement and expertise as well as current research evidence. MPC provides a wide range of services, including Adult and Child Therapy, Psychometric Testing and Clinical Assessments.

Australian Catholic University – Autism Clinic

The Autism Clinic provides a comprehensive assessment of Autism for children up to 18 years of age. Supervising Educational and Developmental Psychologists are sensitive to the individual presentation of Autism and are neurodiverse affirming in identifying strengths and challenges. A written report is provided along with in-person feedback.

Swinburne – Psychology Clinic

All counsellors are registered as provisional or registered psychologists, and their practice is supervised by experienced practitioners. Each year the clinic provides over 500 individuals with access to low-cost counselling, psychological assessment and group therapy treatment. All work conducted by counsellors at the clinic is supervised by fully registered psychologists with significant academic and applied training who provide support, practical advice and feedback to counsellors and therapists. The clinic provides low-cost psychological assessments, a range of professional development workshops, psychological counselling and therapy, and group therapy programs.

RMIT – Psychology Clinic

The Clinic offers clinical facilities for adults, children, adolescents and families who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, and clinical issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues). Consultations are face-to-face or via Telehealth. Clinical sessions are primarily conducted by postgraduate psychology interns completing their fifth and sixth years of study. Interns are registered provisional psychologists. They are supervised by and work closely with senior clinical psychology staff. The clinic also provides cognitive and psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults.

La Trobe – Psychology Clinic

The Clinic is staffed by provisionally-registered psychologists, supervised by nationally-registered clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists with expertise in the services offered. The clinic offers a range of services, including psychological therapy, neuropsychological assessments and management, and group programs.

La Trobe – Psychology Clinic – Child Behaviour Clinic

The Child Behaviour Clinic provides treatment strategies to help parents improve their child’s well-being and behaviour, and improve families’ quality of life. The clinic offers Clinical Psychology services to help you understand your children from toddlerhood to adolescence.

La Trobe – Psychology Clinic – The eNACT Clinic

The eNACT Clinic is part of the La Trobe Psychology Clinic and offers high-quality, innovative, world-class evidence-based rehabilitation and support for cognitive and emotional difficulties following an acquired brain injury (ABI). The services offered by the Neurorehabilitation Clinic include the VaLiANT Group: a program to help you increase your participation in valued activities following ABI; individual cognitive rehabilitation: individual sessions to assist with memory and other cognitive difficulties; and individual psychological therapy. All services offered by the eNACT Clinic offer you an individualised, tailored approach to rehabilitation. The eNACT Clinic is committed to low-cost psychology services. The cost for individual and group sessions follows the same structure as other La Trobe Psychology Clinic services.

Monash University – Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health – Turner Clinics

The Turner Clinics provide assessment and treatment for a range of presenting issues across the lifespan, including formal mental health disorders, sleep problems, cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties, neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, and learning and developmental difficulties. The Turner Clinics are led by registered clinical psychologists and clinical neuropsychologists who supervise provisionally registered psychologists undergoing clinical training as a component of the PhD program. The Turner Clinics provide treatment and assessment for children and adults. This includes neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism and ADHD.

Monash University – Women’s Mental Health Clinic

The Women’s Mental Health Clinic provides a tertiary medical, psychiatric, and endocrine consultation service and a new treatment approach for women experiencing a range of mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar affective disorder, borderline personality disorder, menopause and menstrual-related depression and anxiety. The clinic operates on the principle of empowerment of women clients and combines physical health examinations with mental health assessments. 

Monash University – Krongold Clinic

The Krongold Clinic is a university-based clinic that provides affordable psychological and counselling services to individuals of all ages, families, groups, and community organisations. They offer affordable psychological assessment and counselling services.

Cairnmillar Institute – Anxiety and Depression Clinic

The Anxiety and Depression Clinic (ADC) is housed at the Cairnmillar Institute’s Hawthorn East Clinic. The ADC opened in 2021 and serves three primary purposes: 1) Providing low-cost state-of-the-art Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders. 2) Conducting research to better understand anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders, as well as improve treatment options and outcomes. 3) Training postgraduate students to deliver the most powerful treatments for anxiety, depression, and related emotional disorders. The clinic offers both individual and group-based treatment and also provides assessment. The ADC is staffed by registered psychologists and provisionally registered psychologists under the supervision of clinical psychologists. This clinic is noted to be part of a new project for research.

Cairnmillar Institute – Community Clinics

Cairnmillar Institutes notes an extension of their traditional psychology and counselling services to include a free and low-cost community clinic. Their community clinic is open to Children, Adolescents and Adults. No referral or mental health care plan is required. The Cairnmillar Community clinic is staffed by a mix of students studying at Cairnmillar and completing their practical placement requirements. These students are either registered psychologists studying further, doctoral psychology students, provisional psychologists or counselling and psychotherapy students undertaking their postgraduate studies for registration. All student clinicians provide this work under the care of experienced supervisors. Clients engaging with the community clinic will work with student clinicians, who will undertake treatment planning, counselling and reviews to assist clients in addressing their needs and outcomes.  Their one-on-one sessions with a student clinician are offered at no cost and can be conducted either face-to-face or via telehealth. Assessment services such as cognitive assessments, personality assessments, behavioural/learning assessments or vocational assessments are offered at low cost. Cairnmillar Community Clinics can be accessed at the Dandenong, Hawthorn East, Melbourne CBD and North Melbourne clinics.

University of Melbourne – Psychology Clinic

All clinical psychology, clinical neuropsychology and educational psychology services are provided by provisional psychologists under the direct supervision of experienced senior psychologists. All provisional psychologists engage in evidence-based and evidence-informed practices. The clinic provides high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy to adult members of the community, including University of Melbourne staff and students. The clinic also provides evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention for children aged between 3 and 11 years (inclusive) and their parents and caregivers. The clinic also offers examinations and interventions for adults with cognitive and behavioural difficulties or concerns. The clinic also provides educational and developmental psychology services to identify and assist people with psychological issues, including learning difficulties. The clinic also provides a clinical neuropsychology service for adults. The clinic also runs a managing social anxiety group program that involves the teaching and practising of social anxiety management skills in a group format. The clinic also offers assessments for children with maths learning difficulties and dyscalculia (a more severe form of math difficulty). To be eligible to use their clinical psychology telehealth and face-to-face services, you need to reside in Metro Melbourne and Shepperton in regional Victoria. They do not provide services to those who live interstate or overseas.

Federation University – Community Psychology Services

Federation Community Psychology Services provides psychological services to members of the community within Ballarat and surrounding districts. In most instances, psychological services will be provided by provisionally registered psychologists who are currently undertaking advanced training in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and the Master of Professional Psychology programs. All services provided are closely supervised by a team of registered psychologists, all of whom hold both endorsements in clinical psychology and registration as clinical supervisors with the Psychology Board of Australia in APHRA. They offer a range of psychological services for children (5 years and older), adolescents, and adults, including psychological and educational assessment and the psychological treatment of various behavioural and emotional problems. They also offer cognitive assessments for adults and children. This may include an intellectual and/or academic ability assessment. Such assessments aim to explore difficulties in the following areas – learning, memory, academic ability, concentration or attentional issues. These assessments include a clinical interview, testing, feedback to the client or family (and the school in some cases) and a comprehensive written report summarising and explaining the assessment results. They periodically deliver a range of group programs for the community on topics such as parenting and managing psychological well-being.

South Australia

University of South Australia – Psychology Clinic

Based at UniSA’s Magill Campus, the Psychology Clinic provides high-quality, affordable psychological services to the general community. Psychological therapy is provided by provisional psychologists (postgraduate clinical psychology students) under the supervision of fully qualified clinical psychologists. In addition to their face-to-face services, they can also facilitate e-therapy or telepsychology sessions for clients who prefer not to attend a face-to-face appointment or are located in rural and remote areas of South Australia. They offer up to 20 individual sessions for adult therapy clients and up to 20 sessions of parent sessions for child therapy (a combination of parent-only and joint parent-child sessions). All sessions are video-recorded. Child assessments and therapy services will only be provided where we have permission from both caregivers. They also provide cognitive and learning assessments.

Flinders University – Psychology Clinic

The Psychology Clinic provides a professional clinical space for Flinders’ postgraduate (Masters and Clinical PhD) provisional psychologists to carry out assessments and therapy under the supervision of a registered clinical psychologist. It also serves as a research facility. The Flinders University Psychology Clinic accepts self-referrals for the assessment and treatment of anxiety and stress problems in children and adolescents; assessment and treatment of behaviour problems in children; assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders in adults; psycho-educational assessments of children and adolescents (testing of intelligence and academic achievement).

University of Adelaide and SA Health – Centre for Treatment of Anxiety and Depression

The Centre for Treatment of Anxiety and Depression (CTAD) is a free government clinic providing outpatient psychological therapy for anxiety disorders and depression. The clinic is a partnership between SA Health and the University of Adelaide and is one of the largest teaching clinics for psychologists and psychiatrists in Adelaide.

University of Adelaide and University of South Australia – UniHealth Playford

UniHealth Playford is a clinic that works with the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia; it does not appear to be owned by them. It is a low-cost multidisciplinary clinic that offers a range of primary health, allied health and mental health services. It is also a teacher and training clinic for medical, nursing, allied health and psychology postgraduate students. Postgraduate psychology students have an opportunity to work with people with a range of health and mental health concerns across the lifespan and learn to work collaboratively with other health professionals involved in an individual’s care. To access support at UniHealth Playford from a postgraduate psychology student or registered psychologist, people require a referral from their General Practitioner.

Queensland

University of Queensland – Psychology Clinic

The UQ Psychology Clinic can assist with a range of mental health issues in children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families. They also provide assessment services for cognitive problems that require either a cognitive assessment or a neuropsychological assessment and can offer follow-up cognitive rehabilitation services. Therapy and assessment services provided at the Clinic cater to individuals, couples, and families and are provided by provisional psychologists or counselling students.

QUT – Psychology and Counselling Clinic

QUT Psychology and Counselling Clinic is a teaching and research clinic. Consultations are routinely video-recorded for supervision purposes. Therapists are QUT postgraduate students in Clinical Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology or Counselling. Across these three service streams, therapists provide treatment for a wide range of conditions. Individual, couples and family therapy are offered to best meet the needs of the client. They also provide specialised services in conjunction with the dietetics team within the clinic to assist adults who are overweight or obese with weight loss or healthy eating and activity. As part of the Eating Disorders Clinic, they provide quality psychological services for those with an eating disorder other than severe anorexia nervosa. The Clinical and Educational and Developmental Psychology interns also conduct thorough psychological and psychometric assessments of intelligence, memory, learning issues, and personality across children, adolescents, and adults. This service aims to equip clients with knowledge of their strengths and difficulties and to assist in clarifying the supports and interventions that could be beneficial to their development. The Caroline Chisholm School Student and Family Support Centre operates within the Psychology and Counselling Clinic and represents a unique partnership between Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

University of the Sunshine Coast – Psychology Clinic

The UniSC Psychology Clinic (Clinic) is a training clinic for postgraduate psychology students. The Clinic provides psychological services to the Sunshine Coast community at no cost. They offer individual, couples, family and group therapy to children and adults. Assessment and treatment at the Clinic are provided by registered Provisional Psychologists undertaking postgraduate psychology training in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Master of Professional Psychology programs at USC.

Central Queensland University – Wellness Centre

At the CQUniversity Psychology Wellness Centre, registered psychologists provide a range of psychology services to children, adolescents and adults in the Central Queensland community. At all stages, services provided are professional and confidential to ensure that you feel comfortable, safe, respected and listened to. The Wellness Centre has been providing low-cost, high-quality assessment and therapy services to the general community since 2011. Registered Psychologists are enrolled in the Master of Clinical Psychology Program and provide services that are based on the latest evidence-based practice from current research and best-practice guidelines.

James Cook University – Psychology Clinic

Provides training with the Department of Psychology at James Cook University. The Clinic is staffed by registered psychologists who are undergoing advanced training in the Master’s or Doctor of Psychology (Clinical). Psychologists who work in the clinic are supervised by highly qualified and experienced clinical staff. The Clinic offers specialised clinical services to the community of North Queensland, including cognitive assessment and therapeutic intervention. Bulk Billing on mental health treatment plans.

Bond University – Psychology Clinic

The Bond University Psychology Clinic is a private university teaching clinic for provisionally registered psychologists undertaking postgraduate studies in clinical or forensic psychology. The Clinic provides an extensive range of assessments and interventions for a broad range of psychological and health-related problems. The Clinic offers a variety of diagnostic and cognitive assessments for children and adults with a focus on assessments for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, Memory and Achievement.

Griffith University – Psychology Clinic

Based on the Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt campuses, they provide confidential and affordable psychology services to those in need. Their provisionally registered and fully registered psychologists can help you, your child and your family cope with a wide range of mental health issues. Their clinic is open to the public and offers both individual and group-based therapy sessions, with no referrals required. A variety of assessment options are available for adults and children. Cognitive or learning assessments focus on areas such as academic achievements and learning disabilities. Diagnostic assessments can be completed during therapy sessions for those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

University of Southern Queensland – Psychology and Counselling Clinics

The Psychology and Counselling Clinics are a community psychological and counselling service centre for children, adolescents and adults of all ages, operated by the School of Psychology and Counselling at their Toowoomba and Ipswich campuses. The clinics offer services in therapy, consultation and cognitive assessment for both individuals and groups. These services are provided by provisionally registered psychologists and counsellors who are postgraduate students undertaking advanced study in psychology or counselling at the University of Southern Queensland. All services are provided under the supervision of University of Southern Queensland staff who are Counsellors or Clinical Psychologists who are approved supervisors under the Psychology Board of Australia. They do not provide autism spectrum disorder or memory assessments.

Southern Queensland Rural Health and Darling Downs Health – Health and Wellness Centre

Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) is a joint venture between the University of Queensland and the University of Southern Queensland. SQRH and Darling Downs Health (DDH) have combined to establish a student-led Health and Wellness Clinic (HaWC) in Toowoomba, located at the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus within the pool complex. The clinic provides health and wellness services delivered by nursing and allied health students who are fully supervised by experienced and registered health professionals. Chronic disease issues are prevalent in Queensland and, in particular, across Southern Queensland. Obesity rates, smoking, diabetes and respiratory system disease are all major risk factors. The Health and Wellness Clinic will target individuals with low to rising risk of chronic disease with the intention of providing early intervention as well as building sustainable healthy lifestyle models. Students in Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics, Psychology, Social Work and Nursing provide health and wellness services under supervision.

Tasmania

University of Tasmania – University Psychology Clinic

The University Psychology Clinic (UPC) is a training clinic for provisionally registered psychologists who have completed four years of undergraduate study and are undertaking their postgraduate training in clinical psychology. Members of the community are invited to access therapy services with Masters or PhD students who are under the supervision of highly experienced clinical supervisors. The UPC has provided specialist general and clinical psychology services to the community for over 30 years. Provisionally registered psychologists provide assessment and evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, adults and older adults under supervision. It is a teaching clinic with all sessions video recorded for review with supervisors to ensure the best possible services for clients attending the Clinic. All sessions are under strict confidentiality and are private and secure. The clinic address is at Sandy Bay, a suburb of Hobart. Additionally, a sister clinic has opened in Launceston at the University of Tasmania Newnham campus.

Australian Capital Territory

University of Canberra – Psychology Clinic

The UC Psychology Clinic offers low-cost, evidence-based psychological services to UC students and the community. Sessions are conducted by Provisional Psychologists who are in their fifth year of psychology training and completing their Masters/PhD in Clinical Psychology degree. The Provisional Psychologists are accredited to practice under the close supervision of Clinical Psychologists to ensure best practices and standards and high-quality treatment plans are completed for each client. The UC Psychology Clinic works with children (7 years+), adolescents and adults who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. The UC Psychology Clinic regularly offers a number of evidence-based group programs, including Cool Kids (aimed at children with anxiety), Chilled (aimed at adolescents with anxiety), Putting Off Procrastination (aimed at students and adults struggling with procrastination) and Surviving Stress (aimed at students and adults struggling with stress management). The UC Psychology Clinic offers cognitive assessments for a range of presenting concerns, including intellectual disability, school-based achievement and academic giftedness, general cognitive ability and specific learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia). They also offer an assessment of ADHD for adults. They do not offer assessments of ADHD for children nor assessments of autism spectrum disorder for any age group. Person-centred feedback and recommendations are provided in person and in written reports.

Australian National University – Psychology Clinic

The ANU Psychology Clinic is a training, treatment and research centre offering specialised psychological services to the community. The clinic provides assessment, counselling and therapy for adults and children/families who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural problems, including anxiety, fears and phobias, depression, stress, and coping with health conditions (i.e., sleep, pain). Therapy is provided individually or within groups and is time-limited and centred around evidence-based best practices. They note that they are not equipped to assist individuals with complex and chronic mental health difficulties. The clinic also offers group programs. A professional referral is not required, and individuals can self-refer. They also accept referrals from GPs, specialist physicians and other health professionals.

Northern Territory

Charles Darwin University – Wellness Centre

CDU Wellness Centre Psychology Service offers quality and affordable psychological assessment and therapy to the general community. Psychology services are provided by students completing the Master of Clinical Psychology program, who work under the supervision of a registered Clinical Psychologist as part of their professional training. Clinical training involves the assessment, diagnosis, formulation, and psychological treatment of mental health, behavioural, and emotional disorders across the lifespan. They aim to work with clients to find ways to overcome difficulties, build on strengths, and assist in developing and achieving personal goals. They also provide standard assessments (cognitive/learning/educational assessment) and complex assessments (standard plus additional domains, such as memory, behavioural, sensory, and executive difficulties). Whilst they accept self-referral, a referral from a medical or health professional is encouraged particularly for children’s services.

Western Australia

University of Western Australia – Robin Winkler Clinic

The Robin Winkler Clinic provides individual and group psychological treatment and neuropsychological assessment for people of all ages and backgrounds. The clinic is linked with the School of Psychological Sciences at The University of Western Australia. At the clinic, provisionally registered postgraduate students undergoing their training in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology carry out assessment and treatment under the expert supervision of experienced clinical psychologists and clinical neuropsychologists. The clinic also provides paediatric and adult neuropsychological assessments. Children and adults with known or suspected cognitive, attentional or learning difficulties resulting from trauma, disease or genetic conditions can be referred for a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment. Assessments are conducted by postgraduate clinical neuropsychology trainees who are trained in understanding how the brain works and how it affects behaviour, thinking and personality. A variety of group therapy programs are run throughout the year. The programs use the latest research in a supportive environment to help individuals overcome life challenges.

Edith Cowan University – Psychological Services Centre

Edith Cowan University Psychological Services Centre is a state-of-the-art psychology clinic and training centre that provides high-quality, accessible and affordable psychological services. Clinical Psychology students, who are Provisionally Registered Psychologists, provide current evidence-based psychological services under the direct supervision of experienced and professionally registered Clinical Psychologists. Clients may self-refer or be referred by medical professionals, health agencies, schools and other government and community services. They provide therapy and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Regarding cognitive assessments, they provide cognitive assessments regarding intellectual and cognitive functioning for children and adults, children experiencing difficulties with learning at school, and adults experiencing difficulties engaging in the workforce. All children under the age of 18 accessing the service for a cognitive assessment require a written referral (e.g. Paediatrician, School, and Allied Health Professional).

Curtin University – Child and Adolescent Psychology Clinic

The Child and Adolescent Psychology Clinic offers assessment and therapy for children, adolescents and their families in a one-to-one client-focused environment. The service is provided by clinical and professional psychology trainees undertaking supervised advanced post-graduate training and practice in clinical psychology. Your treatment is supported by supervision from highly experienced, registered clinical psychologists in the area of child and adolescent services.

Curtin University – Adult Psychology Clinic

The Adult Psychology Clinic offers a specialised clinical facility for individuals experiencing a wide variety of psychological problems. The service is provided by clinical and professional psychology trainees undertaking supervised advanced post-graduate training and practice in clinical psychology. Clinical care is supervised by a team of experienced clinical psychologists. Individual sessions are recorded to ensure participants receive the best intervention through close supervision with the clinical psychology trainee.
