Work off fines and Victim Restitution Orders with mental health treatment.
Eligible treatment for a mental health disorder is an alternative to paying your fine or Victim Restitution Order under a Work and Development Order (WDO).
Psych Point is an approved sponsor
We help people in NSW address their fines and victim restitution orders with psychological treatment.
How to get a WDO and treatment through us
Referral
Ask your GP for a psychologist referral under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Healthcare scheme.
This is important evidence of a mental health disorder. Alternative evidence may be accepted.
Book
Book your psychologist, stating in the comments that you want a NSW WDO.
Complete the emailed intake form; we will apply to Revenue NSW on your behalf.
Therapy
Each month, we will advise Revenue NSW of your compliance.
Revenue NSW writes off up to $1,000 for each month of full compliance.
Treatment months run from the 15th of the month to the 14th of the following month.
WDO cost
There is no additional cost for a WDO. You only pay for the treatment itself and fees like late cancellation fees.
Medicare rebates
Medicare’s Better Access to Mental Healthcare scheme is a promising way to address both the evidence of a mental health disorder and qualify for rebates for psychologist sessions.

How can I learn more about NSW WDOs?
To learn more about the NSW WDO program, you can visit the State Debt Recovery Office (SDRO) website, which is responsible for managing and collecting fines on behalf of the NSW Government. The SDRO website has information about the WDO program, including eligibility criteria, approved activities, and the application process.
You can also contact the SDRO directly by phone or email to ask questions or get more information about the WDO program. The SDRO has customer service centres throughout the state, and you can find contact information for the centre nearest to you on their website.
In addition to the SDRO, some other organizations and resources may be able to provide information about the WDO program. These may include legal services, community organisations, and government agencies. You can also speak with a legal representative or a qualified mental health professional if you have questions about the WDO program and whether it may suit your circumstances.
