Gap Saver program
The ‘gap’ is the difference between the amount covered by your funding and our fee.
There are two versions, Gap Saver and Gap Saver Concession, for concession card holders.
Gap Saver reduces your ‘gap by up to $100
Gap Saver Concession reduces the ‘gap by up to $110
This brings the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee of $311 the APS rates of 2023-2024 of $300 are utilised currently. Gap Saver brings this down to $200 for Gap Saver and $190 for Gap Saver Concession. This is before any applicable rebates. For many funders, you will not have any ‘gap’ out-of-pocket expenses.
Gap Saver terms and conditions
The Gap Saver program only applies to individuals seeking treatment. It is not available to organisations or insurers. Yet, it may offset the gap payable by an individual in some circumstances. The Gap Saver is a maximum of $100 per attendance. This maximum amount is for attendances of 46-60 minutes; a pro-rata amount for shorter sessions applies based on 60 minutes as the maximum. No greater concessional discount applies if the attendance is longer than 60 minutes. Gap Saver is only available between 9 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday Sydney time, excluding public holidays.
Gap Saver does not apply in instances where an item fee amount is unlegislated and a funder attempts to pay less than our standard fee. A fair use policy applies to Gap Saver. The fair use policy mandates that in our sole discretion, we may decide not to provide Gap Saver. This is to ensure it is not utilised for unintended purposes like corporations trying to reduce costs. It is a program of genuine community goodwill for individuals seeking treatment. Gap Saver only applies to therapy items, not reports, assessments, or other items. Gap Saver does not apply to payment processing fees. We reserve the right to discontinue or alter Gap Saver at any time.
Gap Saver Concession terms and conditions
The same terms as Gap Saver apply to Gap Saver Concession; it is up to $110, whereas Gap Saver is up to $100. The additional terms to Gap Saver Concession are as follows. Gap Saver is only provided for the period that a concession card is valid. Proof of this is required initially and periodically. If refused to be provided when asked initially or periodically, a concessional discount will not be applied or discontinued.
